  • Granulated sugar
  • Ground cardamom

Cooking Guide & Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the Crust:
    • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract using a rubber spatula.
    • Gradually add in the flour and salt until well combined. The dough will be slightly greasy.
    • Press the dough into a tart pan evenly across the bottom and up the sides. Use a fork to poke several holes in the base to prevent bubbling.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until just barely golden.
  3. Prepare the Filling:
    • While the crust is baking, divide the mixed berries into two bowls: one with 290g and another with 150g.
    • Mash the 290g of berries in a large bowl using a fork or potato masher.
    • In a separate bowl, mix together 20g of flour, 140g of sugar, and 1 tsp of cardamom.
    • Combine this mixture with the mashed berries and then fold in the reserved 150g of whole berries.
  4. Assemble and Bake:
    • Pour the berry filling into the pre-baked tart crust.
    • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and set.
  5. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the tart to cool completely before garnishing with additional fresh berries on top.
    • Slice and serve chilled or at room temperature.
